Uploading your documents:

To drive with the OneDG driver app, you need to upload some documents to set up your account. Review the information below when uploading each document.

1. Download the app and register.

2. Minimum vehicle requirements.

Your vehicle must meet the requirements to drive with OneDG in Ottawa and Montreal.

3. Share your documents:

Take photos of the following documents and upload them to your account:

  • Driver license : 21 years and over, Ontario G driver's license or equivalent (G1 or G2 is not allowed). If you are uploading a provisional license, please include government-issued photo ID (eg, old driver's license, passport, etc.) in the same photo to verify your identity. Be sure to avoid using flash so that your information is clear and legible.
  • Proof of work eligibility : birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, residency card, work permit, social insurance number card or paper, study permit must declare ability to work off-campus, certificate of Indian status, ID card Forces Identity, Nexus Card.   • Vehicle registration : Both sides (left and right) of the registration document are required. The car must also be in good condition with no cosmetic damage, have 4 doors, no trademarks and cannot be rebuilt or salvaged. You do not have to own the vehicle. When you take the photo, make sure it's not blurry and all four corners are visible.
  • Vehicle insurance : The insurance must be in your name and must be legible. When you take the photo, make sure it's not blurry and all four corners are visible.

4. Security reviews:

  • Background screening : Every year you must complete a background check to drive with OneDG. Screening checks your driving record and criminal history. Be sure to bring your Ontario driver's license and 1 other piece of ID.
  • Vulnerable sector check Check : To drive with OneDG in Ottawa, you must complete a single vulnerable sector check at your local police station.

5. Vehicle inspection:

Your vehicle must pass an inspection by a licensed mechanic to receive a Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) each year. When you take the photo, make sure it's not blurry and all four corners are visible.

If your vehicle is 5 years old or less, it should be inspected once a year. If your vehicle is over 5 years old, it should be inspected twice a year. Be sure to upload your new Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) after completing the inspection.

6. Download the app and go:

Once your application is approved, we'll provide you with everything you need to succeed on the road. All you need to do is get the appOneDGand leave.
